Description+
Sidr leaves (Ziziphus leaves)
Sidr leaves fall from the sidr tree, also known as the ziziphus tree or Christ's thorn tree. The sidr tree grows almost everywhere in the Middle East and enjoys an exceptional status due to its diverse uses. Not only are the fruits of the sidr tree very rich in nutrients and vitamins, but so are the leaves, which can be used to successfully treat stomach and intestinal problems, for example. Furthermore, the ground leaves can be mixed into a thin to thick paste, which can also provide relief for hair and skin problems such as dandruff, hair loss, eczema, neurodermatitis, and other inflammatory processes (pimples, acne, and boils).
In Islam, the sidr tree is considered sacred, or even the tree of Paradise. The Quran mentions the sidr tree as follows: "And he (Muhammad, peace be upon him) saw him (the angel Gabriel) descending another time, by the sidr tree of the ultimate goal, in which is the Garden of Refuge. When what covered the sidr tree overshadowed it, his gaze (the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) did not deviate, nor did it exceed its measure. Indeed, he saw of the signs of his Lord the greatest (signs)." (Quran 53:13-18)
