Our dried figs come from Turkey and are freshly harvested. Figs are heat-loving fruits that thrive under the Mediterranean sun. They grow on evergreen trees that reach a height of 3 to 10 meters. When fresh, the skin is green to purple; dried figs have a beige to brownish skin.
The drying process and the removal of water increase the fructose content of the figs. Fresh figs have a carbohydrate content of approximately 13 g per 100 g, while dried figs contain about 55 g of carbohydrates per 100 g.
